Gamora To Return? The Guardians of the Galaxy 3 Trailer Reveals Big Hints!

Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 Trailer

A lot happened during the San Diego Comic-Con 2022, especially at the Marvel panel. From the showcase of multiple trailers, including Guardians of the Galaxy 3, to several new project announcements, fans got it all. The GoTG franchise got all its promotional boost with the presence of the cast and the sequel’s trailer reveal. Dropping a few major hints, the teaser did the job of exciting the fans well. The movie will not hit the theater release until the summer of ’23, so the trailer was a convention-exclusive special.

This means that it is not available to view for the mainstream public. However, some fans recorded the trailer despite the strict camera prohibition rules and leaked the clip. As a result, while it may not be possible to link the trailer, we’ll get into all the details. So if you missed the event or couldn’t keep track of the updates, worry not! We’ve got you covered.

What Did Guardians Vol. 3 Trailer Reveal About Gamora?

As the final installment of the Guardians trilogy, the Volume 3 trailer left a lot to unpack. It starts with Peter Quill and the gang rushing to meet the Ravagers, with whom Nebula fixed an appointment. In a shocking turn of events, the leader of the Ravagers turns out to be Gamora. But hold your horses, folk. It’s not the Gamora from Peter’s timeline. As Marvel fans would recall, Gamora was last seen dying at the hands of Thanos before a 2014 version ended up with Nebula in the final battle of AvengersEndgame. According to the trailer, this new-old Gamora left her timeline and ended up as the Ravagers’ leader in the present.

As the trailer continues, we see flashbacks of the Star-Lord and Gamora from previous movies. This changes to Peter sharing a heartfelt moment with her, stating, “You were everything to me.” Having been directly transported to the present timeline from 2014, all Gamora could say in return was, “That person wasn’t me.”

Other Major Hints Dropped In The Trailer

The rest of the trailer includes flashes of the various Guardians. We see Mantis dancing, Nebula looking at an alien neon sign, and a muscular Groot charging into battle with Peter. There’s also a surprising shot of Drax in a blue Ravager uniform with a shirt on! The short clip of a hand reaching toward a terrified baby raccoon is most interesting. There’s no real doubt about who the raccoon is, but speculation has fared wide on ‘the hand.’ The most probable theory is that it’s the High Evolutionary that is reaching for Rocket. High Evolutionary is a villain in the comics who did experiments on animals.

These experiments led to the development of sentience among the experiment subjects, one of which may have been Rocket. This theory was further solidified with the appearance of Chukwudi Iwuji at the panel. Decked in High Evolutionary gear from head to toe, Iwuji left no doubt as to the role of the character in the movie.

Right before the trailer ends, the camera cuts to Adam Warlock, played by Will Poulter. First introduced in a post-credits scene of Guardians Vol.2, Warlock was a creation of Queen Ayesha, the Sovereign ruler. Fans can expect Poulter’s Warlock to make a significant appearance in the final installment with a build-up and a reveal.

Well, that’s all we have on the Guardians of the Galaxy 3 trailer. Head on to The Artistree for more Marvel updates and news!
