Guardians of the Galaxy: James Gunn Reportedly Teases Adam Warlock’s Storyline

The Guardians last appeared in Thor: Love and Thunder and will next be seen in the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special. It will air on Disney+ this year. Gunn has stated that he anticipates directing Vol. 3 as his final Guardians movie. He characterized it as the conclusion of the tale he had begun to tell ten years earlier. And now Guardians of the Galaxy: James Gunn reportedly teases Adam Warlock’s storyline.
Fans have eagerly awaited the path that GOTG Vol. 3 will take. The filming of the third and final installment was completed earlier this year.

What has been confirmed is Will Poulter’s performance as Adam Warlock, a comic book fan favorite. Who is rumored to be the major antagonist the Guardians will have to deal with in the future sequel. Since the end of Vol. 2, Gunn has been teasing the appearance of the powerful Warlock. The Sovereign queen Ayesha, who is Warlock’s mother in the comics, also appears in Vol. 3, an epic core plot for Warlock that seemed all but guaranteed. Fans are curious to see how Gunn does against the other cosmic Marvel baddies, like Ronan the Accuser and Ego the Living Planet.

Why Did Guardians Of Galaxy Vol3 Take So Much Time?

Since the 2014 release of Gunn’s eccentric space crew, The Guardians films have been a huge success for Marvel. But the third movie has taken a while to make: Gunn wanted to make Vol. 3 for years, but Marvel fired him from the directing position in 2018 after several of the filmmaker’s controversial and offensive tweets reappeared. After tweeting an apology, Warner Bros., a competing company, hired Gunn to helm The Suicide Squad. Soon later, Disney recruited Gunn again.

The fact that Gunn is so adamant about getting Adam Warlock right speaks to his track record with recent adaptations, particularly how he handled putting the menacing DC creature Starro on the big screen in The Suicide Squad. It also reflects his past as a genre filmmaker, comic book lover, and dependable MCU director. MCU fans have ranked the first two GOTG movies among their favorites due to Gunn’s attention to detail and preference for heart above violence.

Gunn is adamant about accurately portraying Adam Warlock because he wants to make Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 rewarding for fans anticipating it for years. Even a little under a year before the premiere, his confidence and the confidence of his cast and crew speak volumes.

James Gunn Takes On Adam Warlock In GOTG Vol3

On Saturday night at Marvel Hall H, a brief GOTG preview and the release of the Vol. 3 teasers got featured. Gunn’s remarks on the intense, emotional tone of the movie, even down to the usage of “Do You Realize” by the Flaming Lips in the teaser, resonated with fans even though the Guardians 3 trailer hasn’t yet been released online. Online users have already started to speculate on the gravity and relevance that might make this GOTG film greater than the last two, with some con-goers describing the teaser as “tear-inducing.”

A powerful, like-minded, fully developed Adam Warlock would undoubtedly add to such an alleged tone. Gunn spoke about his approach to adapting Adam Warlock and offered a teaser for the popular character’s fulfilling movie plot. Gunn stressed how similar Warlock would be to the other pre-existing Guardians characters and expressed his pride in Poulter’s portrayal of the character. At the same time, he stayed mute on the character’s specific actions and how he will be portrayed.
