Wolverine And Captain Marvel Friendship Of MCU

Logan and Carol have far more in common than fans may know, despite having very different histories and talents. Since they were government spies, Carol and Logan battled alongside one another long before they adopted their respective snappy codenames or bright costumes, such as Avengers or X-Men. And each would always go to the other’s aid when one was in trouble.

Wolverine & Captain Marvel’s Friendship

Carol a former Avenger who was rendered helpless and amnesic by the events of Avengers Annual #10 by Chris Claremont and Michael Golden. She seeks Professor Charles Xavier and his fellow X-Men for assistance in retrieving her memories. Although she never fully regains control of her past, she stays with the Merry Mutants during several adventures. Her shared military experience with Wolverine also becomes clearer in her memories. The heroes are introduced as longtime pals and allies who served in special forces alongside SHIELD Director Nick Fury for years.

When the KGB kidnaps and imprisons Carol, Wolverine even defies instructions and goes to rescue her by himself, accompanied by their mutual friend Michael Rossi. Years later, in Uncanny X-Men #258 by Claremont and Jim Lee, Carol—or at least Wolverine’s mental picture of her—would repay the favor by aiding a traumatized Logan in escape from the Hand with a vision of Fury.

Wolverine & Captain Marvel Romantic Relationship

Although the love aspect of their relationship has mostly been left out of the comic books, there have been just too many allusions to ignore it completely. Since Carol’s early days in the military, Logan has been a companion and “drinking buddy,” and their bond is undoubtedly one of the greatest in the comics. The two enjoy a private moment in issue 24 of Marvel Fanfare from 1986, which shows Carol going through some identity struggle. She says Wolverine is “like Mar-Vell,” who she formerly dated, in that he is more than just a buddy.

Their Friendship In Recent Times

The pair’s friendship has mostly suffered in recent years as their reputations inside continuity and with the general public have grown. One of the most well-known Marvel characters has always been Wolverine. But due to the increased burden placed on him following the events of Avengers vs. X-Men by Jason Aaron, Matt Fraction, and others. Logan has grown even more distant from his non-mutant comrades in the Avengers. And with the rise of the Krakoan people, the gap has only widened as he has once more taken the lead in the X-Force division’s covert operations.
