Because Lucas and Nathan were the main characters of One Tree Hill, it was believed that their relationship would be the focus of the story’s ending. However, Chad Michael Murray, who played the part of Lucas, left the program in the interim, breaking the hearts of many of his admirers.
Why Chad Michael Murray Left The Show?
Fans were devastated when Michael Murray abruptly left One Tree Hill because he played the show’s main character. Fans also started to wonder why Chad Michael Murray was removed from the program.
After Chad Michael Murray left the show, it still ran until 2012, but it wasn’t as much fun as it had been with him on the show. Lucas and Payton’s removal from the show after its sixth season disappointed fans who had high expectations for the couple.

It appears that both actors had to quit the show owing to contractual obligations, but One Tree Hill was delightful when they were a part of it. Seasons 7 through 9 of the show were released without Hilarie Burton and Chad Michael Murray. Even though the show continued to grow in popularity, viewers missed seeing their favorite couple on screen.
