It’s getting close to that wonderful time of year when cheesy, clichéd holiday movies light up our television screens like love around us. It’s when the bad, almost cringy movies don’t feel that bad and when we snuggle up in our blankets to escape the cold with hot chocolate and, hopefully, a love partner.

A Cozy Christmas Inn, a Hallmark romantic comedy film directed by Peter Sullivan, centers on Erika, a real estate executive who visits the tiny town of Garland, which is all about Christmas, to purchase a bed and breakfast after learning about it from a friend. When she arrives in the town and learns that her ex, Andy, owns the B&B, things take an unexpected turn.

When Erika begins to fall in love with the city and perhaps Andy as well, what was supposed to be a brief business trip becomes something more. The romantic and humorous plot keeps the audience interested in the film from start to finish.

At the same time, one is bound to wonder about the actual filming locations of “A Cozy Christmas Inn,” given the setting of the made-up town of Garland against a snowy backdrop. Don’t worry if you’ve been pondering the same thing; we’ve got you covered!

A Cozy Christmas Inn wasn’t filmed in the 49th state of the union, according to The Cinemaholic. Instead, it was filmed in December 2021 in Huntsville, Utah. The entirety of “A Cozy Christmas Inn” was shot in Huntsville, Utah. According to reports, the love movie’s primary shooting started in early December 2021 and ended in a few weeks or so.

Utah’s large and varied environment served as an excellent stand-in for the imagined village of Garland in Alaska. A Cozy Christmas Inn specifically used Compass Rose Lodge, which serves as “a monument to the architectural heritage of Huntsville.” The “15-Room Boutique Hotel” features an Astronomic and Lunar Observatory in addition to a steampunk atmosphere, rustic architecture, and an on-site coffee shop called First Lift Coffee.

The delightful lodge was rooted by Jeff and Bonnie Hyde in 2018. The Huntsville Square, which is “in the heart of Northern Utah’s Wasatch Mountains,” is where Compass Rose Lodge is located. Huntsville Square also houses “event spaces,” the outdoor and lifestyle store Detours, two restaurants: I.D.K. Barbecue and The Lovin’ Cup, and the lodge. It is renowned for its delicious milkshakes and paddleboard rentals.

Compass Rose Lodge has 15 king and queen bedrooms, along with Huntsville Astronomic and Lunar Observatory (HALO), and is large enough to accommodate a variety of occasions, including weddings, family gatherings, and corporate retreats. Additionally, a variety of entertaining sports, like biking, hiking, skiing, paddle boarding, and even golfing, are accessible nearby.

Therefore, it is possible that the cast and staff of “A Cozy Christmas Inn” participated in some of these events when they weren’t engaged in filming the movie. Jodie Sweetin leads the role of Erika in the Hallmark movie. She is popularly known for her role as Stephanie Tanner on ‘Full House.’ David O’Donnell portrays Andy. One may recognize him from another Hallmark movie ‘Christmas Under Wraps.’

David O’Donnell expressed his love for the mountainous state on Instagram and said that he had a great time filming there. In addition to fawning over the state in general, he also talked about how much he adored Compass Rose Lodge and First Lift Coffee.

“Unbelievably beautiful in Huntsville, Utah. Blessed to have gotten to shoot here and meet up with old and new friends. So quiet and peaceful, and the world is getting ready for a little break — the most wonderful time of the year,” he wrote in December 2021 Instagram Post.

It appears that the filming crew also visited other locations throughout the neighborhood to capture various scenarios against attractive backgrounds. Huntsville, which is based in Ogden Valley, was established in 1860.

It was a wonderful match for the fictitious Alaskan town of Garland due to the harsh winters and accompanying snowfall. You can tune in to Hallmark Channel on Friday, October 28, 2022, at 8 p.m. E.S.T. with your comfort food and comfort partner to enjoy the movie!
