Caitlyn Jenner and Kris Jenner’s Relationship: From Close to Distant
Caitlyn Jenner, known for her role in “I Am Cait” and her high-profile divorce from Kris Jenner in 2015 after a 24-year marriage, recently opened up about the current state of her relationship with her former spouse.
In an interview on the October 4th episode of ITV’s “This Morning,” Caitlyn, 73, revealed that she no longer maintains close communication with Kris. She shared, “Kris, I really never talk to you anymore. It’s sad. If there’s any communication, Sophia Hutchins, my manager, handles it. So, she talks to them.”
Their marriage, which began in April 1991, brought together two families. Kris, who had children Kim, Kourtney, Khloe, and Rob from her previous marriage to Robert Kardashian Sr., joined Caitlyn, who had children Burt, Cassandra, Brandon, and Brody from prior relationships. Together, they had two more children, Kendall and Kylie.
Despite their once-close relationship, Caitlyn acknowledged that the dynamics within the Kardashian family have changed over time. She mentioned, “When you have as many kids as I have, you’re closer to some than you are to others. And it’s kind of that way through there, through that side of the family.”
Caitlyn clarified that she still occasionally sees her Kardashian family members but has a stronger bond with her Jenner side, including children Brandon, Brody, Burt, and Casey. However, her contact with Kris has significantly dwindled. She reflected, “But Kris, I really don’t have any more contact with her. It’s kind of sad because we went through a lot, but there’s just a lot there.”
Caitlyn admitted that it’s time to “move on” from their previous relationship.
Shortly after the interview aired, Caitlyn took to social media to clarify her statements and dispel any misconceptions. She wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, on October 4, “Don’t let the clickbait or tabloid headlines fool you.” She also referred to an upcoming special, saying, “I did ‘House of Kardashian’ to defend my family, and I speak extremely highly of my kids and Kris—the mastermind behind it all—who I spent 22 beautiful years with.”
The revelation highlights the evolving dynamics within the extended Kardashian-Jenner family and Caitlyn’s desire to maintain positive connections with her children amid changing relationships.
