Drew Barrymore’s dating confidence has been greatly boosted, and she credits Taylor Swift for this transformation. During an episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, the 48-year-old talk show host shared how the Grammy-winning artist, aged 33, has inspired her to be more carefree when it comes to dating.
Barrymore fondly recounted taking her daughter to a showing of Swift’s Eras Tour film, where she witnessed fans singing and dancing in the theater during her “Drew’s News” segment. She acknowledged Taylor Swift’s remarkable ability to encourage people to express themselves in a joyful and positive manner. Barrymore then brought up her own newfound fearless approach to publicly sharing her relationship with Travis Kelce.

“I just want to say that for me personally, I had been single for seven years. Seeing Taylor Swift out on that first date, in the open with his family—I had a big ‘aha’ moment,” Barrymore explained. “There was something refreshingly normal about it.”
Recognizing that “Taylor Swift is anything but normal,” Barrymore appreciated the simplicity of their date night. “It was as if she just decided to go on a date without overthinking it, without being secretive, or playing games,” she continued. “It made me think that I could do the same.”
The Charlie’s Angels alum praised Swift for her ability to live her life without being overly concerned about what others think. She remarked, “It was so calm, confident, and normal that it made me realize I should do the same, and I thank her for that.”
In another part of the episode, Barrymore revealed that Swift’s approach to dating had inspired her to take the person she had been seeing on and off for about three years to a wedding. “I invited him to a wedding next weekend, and he said, ‘After three and a half years, you’re inviting me to a wedding?'” Barrymore shared.
She humorously expressed, “Something about Taylor Swift dating like a regular person without being secretive got to me. I tend to overthink things, and I realized I should just go on a date. What’s wrong with me?”
Taylor Swift and the Kansas City Chiefs football player, aged 34, first sparked dating rumors in September. Kelce had invited Swift to attend one of his games after seeing her perform at Arrowhead Stadium during her Eras Tour in July. The two seemingly confirmed their romance in October when they were spotted holding hands at a Saturday Night Live afterparty. A source mentioned that they are still in the early stages of getting to know each other but are enjoying the process without any pressure.
