Following the resolution of the actors’ strike, Timothée Chalamet wasted no time diving back into work, marking one of the first superstars to resume activities by embarking on a promotional tour for his latest film, “Wonka.”

As the global press tour gains momentum, Timothée has strategically incorporated the candy-colored themes of the movie into his recent fashion choices. Commencing with a striking purple Prada ensemble in Japan, he followed up with a pink Tom Ford suit for the London premiere, channeling inspiration from Willy Wonka’s iconic purple overcoat, famously portrayed by Gene Wilder and Johnny Depp in previous renditions of the character.

In a departure from the pink hues, Timothée embraced a shimmering look, resembling a golden ticket in a sheer metallic shirt. During a recent interview with Access Hollywood, he shared insights into his fashion inspiration for the press tour, acknowledging the influence of his stylish Dune co-star Zendaya.

Citing Zendaya as a great example, Timothée highlighted the contemporary approach of aligning promotional efforts with the movie’s vibe. “In this day and age, you can sort of lean into what the vibe of a movie is in the promotional stuff you do,” he explained. Describing “Wonka” as cheerful, fun, and colorful, he revealed that these elements played a pivotal role in shaping his vibrant press tour vision.

Drawing parallels with Zendaya’s past promotional red carpet moments, known for seamlessly connecting with the themes of her movies, Timothée expressed admiration for her ability to create fashion moments. He specifically recalled Zendaya’s Spider-Man: No Way Home press tour in 2021, where she and her stylist, Law Roach, received widespread acclaim for incorporating references to the film in her looks.

From a plunging spiderweb gown by Valentino, complete with a matching Spidey mask, to a sparkling web-inspired blazer by Alexander McQueen, Zendaya’s nods to the titular character and even subtle homages to the franchise’s villains left a lasting impression on fans.

As anticipation builds for the release of Dune: Part Two next year, Timothée’s decision to draw inspiration from Zendaya suggests an exciting collaboration between the two stars. Fans can look forward to witnessing the fashion moments this iconic duo will undoubtedly deliver during the promotional campaign for the highly anticipated sequel.
