Cameron Diaz, happily married to Benji Madden of the Good Charlotte band since 2015, once envisioned a different approach to the ideal marriage—two separate bedrooms. During an appearance on the “Lipstick on the Rim” podcast hosted by Molly Sims and Emese Gormley on December 19, 2023, Diaz discussed her past perspective on this unconventional living arrangement.

The conversation arose when a guest on the episode mentioned her husband’s snoring, prompting Diaz to advocate for the normalization of separate bedrooms. She elaborated on her envisioned setup, stating, “To me, I would literally have my house. You have yours. We have the family house in the middle. I will go and sleep in my room. You go to sleep in your room. I’m fine. And we have the bedroom in the middle that we can convene in for our relations.”

Addressing the potential controversy, one of the hosts commented on the unconventional stance, and the group humorously suggested Diaz should have kept her thoughts to herself. Diaz responded, “I’ve already said it,” but clarified that her current marriage with Madden was an exception. She noted, “By the way, I don’t feel that way now because my husband is so wonderful. I said that before I got married.”

Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden exchanged vows in her Beverly Hills home in 2015. Celebrating their eight-year wedding anniversary, Madden posted a tribute to his wife on Instagram, expressing love, inspiration, happiness, and gratitude, along with an illustration of flowers.

The couple, who rarely discuss their daughter Raddix, who was born in 2020, in the media, shared a glimpse into their home life during Diaz’s appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” Diaz revealed Madden’s penchant for creating songs for their daughter, suggesting he should consider a kids’ album due to his talent for crafting delightful tunes that resonate with their child.
