The official statement from YG Entertainment reads, “Hello, this is YG Entertainment. BLACKPINK recently extended their contracts with YG for their group activities, and we have agreed not to proceed with additional contracts for [the members’] individual activities. We will do our utmost to support BLACKPINK’s activities, and we will cheer on the members’ individual activities with warm hearts.”

For those unfamiliar with the details, BLACKPINK, the widely acclaimed K-pop group, renewed their contracts with YG Entertainment earlier this month. During their previous contract, the members had ventured into solo projects, including Jennie’s 2018 single “Solo” and full-length albums by Rosé, Lisa, and Jisoo.

Notably, Jennie has recently announced the establishment of her own label, OA or ODD ATELIER, while Jisoo, the eldest member of BLACKPINK, has been exploring her acting talents within the entertainment industry. The group’s decision to focus solely on collective activities marks a new chapter for BLACKPINK, and fans eagerly anticipate the exciting projects that lie ahead for the iconic K-pop quartet.
