The model and actress, who shares two children, Landon and Alabama, with the Blink-182 drummer, discussed the challenges she faced when her children began critiquing her parenting online after Barker started dating reality TV star Kourtney Kardashian.
Moakler revealed that during this time, there was an apparent sense of parental alienation, and Barker, even when they were not together, portrayed himself as the exemplary parent. Moakler acknowledged Barker’s financial success and celebrity status, expressing that she chose to step back from the situation to prevent her children from bonding with the Kardashian family over any negativity towards her.
Reflecting on her relationship with boxer Oscar De La Hoya, Moakler discussed the abrupt and hurtful nature of their breakup in the early 2000s. She recounted discovering De La Hoya’s new relationship with singer Millie Corretjer through a televised appearance at the Latin Grammy Awards. Moakler claimed that following this revelation, she received a message from De La Hoya’s attorney instructing her and her daughter Atiana to vacate their home.
Moakler described a subsequent emotional conversation with De La Hoya, where he issued an ultimatum related to potential legal actions. Despite facing difficulties, including a threat to be estranged from her daughter until she turned 16, Moakler commended De La Hoya for eventually acknowledging his mistakes and faults. She emphasized her ongoing respect and love for him as the father of her daughter.
