As a countermeasure, Gideon proposed an AI solution to Gideon that’d allow the Legends to continue living freely while AI could continue working toward its ultimate goal of safeguarding the timeline.

To reload the timer while disrupting AI Gideon, Legends sent Spooner to a weapons storage facility to reload the timer, which Spooner did. AI Gideon almost had to throw Spooner into the temporary area when the alarm went off at the armory. Astra and Gideon persuaded AI to abandon its plans. When Astra broke the door down, Gideon would be dead. In the end, Legends agreed to pull out after Gideon offered to take over as captain and not leave a timeline in the hands of artificial intelligence (AI). During the war, Gwyn prevented Ava and Zari from going to save Alun because of Gideon’s robot version of Alun. It wasn’t long before all the Natives had left the ark, but Gideon stayed behind to ask for assistance from Gary.
