Dead to Me Season 2 Recap

Season 2 focused on the aftermath of Jen, killing Steve in her home. Jen and Judy reunite briefly to cover up the murder. They find out that the neighbor Karen has security footage of Steve entering Jen’s house, which could end up being incriminating evidence that would implicate them. However, Jen is still mad at Judy for lying to her and kicks her out of the house, leaving her homeless. Later, they reconcile, and Jen claims that she killed Steve in self-defense, but in reality, she killed him in a fit of rage when he was leaving her house.

Later, Steve’s twin brother Ben shows up, wanting to know what happened to his brother. Judy lies that Steve has run off to Mexico after his business went down due to his money laundering crimes. Detective Perez warns Jen about Judy after she gives her the restraining order she filed against her. Later, Jen and Judy argue about what to do with the body after they see rats all over it; they decide to give it a respectful send-off. Jen first considers dissolving it in drain cleaner but changes her mind after she tests it on one of the rats. They bury it at a National Park in the middle of the night. When they book into a fancy hotel, they discover that Karen’s husband is having an affair with another man, and upon returning home, they discover that the bird Henry believed to be his reincarnated father has died.

Charlie is impatient about his new vehicle and finds Steve’s car in the garage and believes it to be his birthday present. He takes it on a joyride with his girlfriend. Judy later bonds with a new client’s daughter Michelle. After finding out about the joyride and berating Charlie about it, Jen burns down the car. Later, Judy and Michelle begin a relationship. It is later revealed that Michelle is Detective Perez’s ex-girlfriend and roommate. Jen and Judy organize a vigil for Steve to keep the suspicion off them. Jen convinces her to break up with Michelle due to her relations with the detective. It is even revealed that Steve’s fiancee Heidi is four months pregnant with his child, which leaves Jen as an emotional mess.
