Chaos Walking: Coming To Theatres in March 2021

Chaos Walking

It’s the beginning of a new year, and the spider-man hero Tom Holland is back with a new year gift titled ‘Chaos Walking.’ The film is an upcoming American science fiction fantasy adventure film that was initially scheduled to release in 2019 but was pushed further owing to reshoots it had to go through. Directed by Doug Liman, the movie is based on the sci-fi trilogy Chaos Walking. The film, however, is an adaptation of its first part that is titled ‘The Knife of Never Letting Go,’ written by British-American author Patrick Ness and was published in the year 2008.

‘Chaos Walking’ was announced back in 2011, but the film underwent script and screenplay revisions. The film finally completed its shoot schedules in 2017 after Doug Liman was confirmed as the director of the project in 2016.

The film revolves around a dystopian alien planet called ‘Prentisstown’ that has been colonized by humanity. The place has no women, and the story features a young boy named Todd Hewitt. Since his childhood, he is made to believe by the people in his community that around the time of his birth, a tragedy took place that changed their lives. During a war with Spackle, the planet’s native inhabitants, a large population of the planet was killed. A germ was released that is responsible for the death of all the women that ever existed. And as a side effect to the deadly virus that caused so many deaths, the ones who survived can now hear and see each other’s thoughts as it is put to display with sounds and are described as ‘the Noise’ owning to the never-ending chattering.

Tom Holland as Todd Hewitt

Todd, while walking through the woods with his dog Manchee, somehow discovers a swamp that is ‘void of the noise.’ He tells the other members of the community, and the news soon is spread amongst everyone. Todd’s caretakers are alarmed at his discovery and ask him to escape from the town. He sets out with his dog, taking his mother’s diary with him, and a map of the towns. Todd soon realizes that the ‘void of noise’ was not created by a particular place but by a girl named Viola Eade, who he ends up meeting. The girl has crash-landed into his planet with her parents. Todd seems peculiar about the discovery of a female he hasn’t seen before and the only person whose thoughts he can’t hear. He promises to save Viola from all the dangers that may fall upon her, and the two set out on a journey unlocking various mysteries that have continued to lay hidden for ages.
