The Stand is a drama miniseries based on the novel by Stephen King. It was aired on CBS All Access on December 17th, 2020. The series stars James Marsden, Odessa Young, Owen Teague, Alexander Skarsgård, Whoopi Goldberg, Jovan Adepo, Henry Zaga, Nat Wolff, Irene Bedard, Brad William Henke, and Greg Kinnear. Danya Jurgens and Randall Flagg work to keep the power running in Sin City. After she asks about Flagg, Danya is then approached by Julie Lawry. Staying true to Flagg’s word, Lloyd has come a long way since he resorted to cannibalism while being locked away and forgotten in prison.
What happened in Episode 5?
Now, as Flagg’s right-hand man, Lloyd is referred to by the survivors as a celebrity. Tom Cullen, who successfully infiltrated Las Vegas, is recruited to work in the gladiatorial arenas as a cleanup crew while Lloyd and the survivors get into debauchery. Teddy Weizak’s body is found. Stuart Redman suspects it as suicide while Larry Underwood believes that his death is connected to Flagg.
Nadine Cross and her accomplice Harold Lauder have doubts in their mission to kill Boulder’s committee. Nadine recalls nearly having a relationship with Larry and expressed anger in a telepathic communication to Flagg for abandoning her with Harold. Harold feels that Nadine crossed a line when she killed Teddy and he accepts an invitation from Frannie Goldsmith to catch up with her and Stu over dinner. It is then revealed that the invite was a ploy to get Harold out of the house while Larry investigates if he murdered Teddy.
Mother Abigail tells Nadine that she is aware she is a mole working for Flagg. As Frannie and Stu feed Harold dinner and wine, Larry breaks into Harry’s house and is called by Nadine, who makes one last offer to make love with him, hoping that this will save her from the dark destiny Flagg had planned for her. Realizing that someone has broken into his home, Harold abruptly leaves his dinner, and Larry is nearly discovered by him. Harold’s suspicions come true as he discovers someone messed with his chessboard.
After she gets detected by Flagg, Danya passes on a handwritten note to Tom, unaware that he can’t read it. As Danya meets with Flagg in his penthouse suite, he says that he was aware of Danya’s journey all along, telling her that her fellow spy Judge Farris is going to reach Vegas through the desert in the north but he doesn’t know who the third spy is. Realizing that there might be limits to Flagg’s powers, Danya stabs him in the neck but in vain. He survives and begins to taunt her and she kills herself instead of being forcibly turned by him. In the Boulder, Abigail begins praying for repentance and starts to fall ill when she sees a vision of a wolf as Harold and Nadine eagerly watch while the community falls into chaos.
The Boulder committee’s plans about learning about Randall Flagg and Las Vegas is beginning to quickly backfire, with Flagg aware of the plot against him and his community. However, Frannie and Larry have unwillingly pushed Lloyd and Nadine to Flagg’s cause. While Flagg has managed to stay one step closer to his opponents, Tom continues to avoid his detection.
When will Episode 6 be aired?
Episode 6 will be aired on January 21st, 2021. The episode will see Mother Abigail and Flagg coming face to face with each other and more investigation towards the death of Teddy Weizak. All the episodes are now available on CBS All Access.
