We still have several unanswered concerns and questions as the ABC series “Grey’s Anatomy” is set to conclude this year in September. One of the most fascinating questions is ‘Who does Meredith end up with after the death of Derek’? Even if you have seen the series, you will be stumped by this question. If you haven’t already, this article will tell you about a wonderful happy journey. Meredith Grey and Derek Shepherd from Grey’s Anatomy were a great pair. Fans had been watching them woo one other for years, and it seemed like a happy ending when they eventually got together. However, after Derek’s death, the narrative is said to have changed. How did Meredith deal with her grief? How did she come across a new love interest? We will go through all of these facts in depth here to make sure you’re up to speed on everything.
Grey’s Anatomy will return for the 18th season, which will premiere following the conclusion of season 17 on ABC. The coronavirus pandemic had a major role in the medical drama, and it was interwoven into many of the narratives. Meredith Grey, who had contracted the virus, was one among them. A make-out date with Dr. McWidow was the only missing piece of this puzzle. Meredith is even teased by Hayes about acquiring COVID rather than going out with him. Remember when Meredith dozed out on her way to have a drink with Hayes? In the doctor’s lounge, he enjoys a drink with her, and the chat-up calls for some intimacy. Let’s hope Meredith chooses him, loves him, and picks him again next season. Please let me know I’m not the only one that wishes for this.

Who does Meredith end up with?
Meredith may perhaps end with Hayes until the last episode of Season 18, which is yet to air. She had previously been involved in a romantic intimacy with Cormac Hayes, who had been a part of the drama since season 16. Meredith and Hayes were supposed to start dating, but she ended up in a coma, so that didn’t happen. She was also with Andrew DeLuca, who tragically died while she was unconscious. It appeared that Meredith and DeLuca did not make it after half of the Grey’s Anatomy fanbase wished for them to get together, and the other half rejected their connection. Dr. Hayes, aka McWidow, is supposed to be Meredith’s new love interest.
Meredith and Derek were a match made in heaven, but their happily ever after was broken in season 11. Derek died in an automobile accident, and Meredith was heartbroken. However, life must carry on. Derek’s death left Meredith grieving, but she isn’t entirely reluctant to finding love again. She appears to be heading in that direction right now. As the physicians on Grey’s Anatomy frequently do, she and Hayes are getting to know each other better through operating room discussions and elevator trips. He was certainly brought here by the authors for a reason. Hayes, like Meredith, has gone through some major upheavals. He lost his wife only two years ago and is already a father. If they pair up on Grey’s Anatomy, they may create a type of medical Brady Bunch. Okay, it would be a stretch, but Meredith and McWidow might make more sense for certain viewers.
The Love Triangle
Link was in a love triangle with Meredith and Andrew DeLuca before he ran off with Mer’s sister-in-law, Amelia Shepherd. Whether it was asking her out on several occasions or flirting with her in the corridors of Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital, he battled long and hard for the surgeon. We were disappointed that he didn’t prevail against DeLuca in the end, but we’re pleased he found love elsewhere, even if it’s a little too close for comfort in our perspective.

On the beach, Derek informed Meredith that he didn’t mind if she had other connections back on Earth as long as she was happy, and Meredith and Hayes have developed a flirtatious work friendship over the previous few seasons. But, when Alex and Jackson left, Jo is on the market, and sparks flared between her and Hayes while Meredith was in her coma. As a result, Grey’s Anatomy might be gearing up for a classic love triangle in Season 18.
