Kodaka: Character description
Kodaka is a natural blonde hair boy who is an outcast, which he inherited from his deceased English mother, and has an unpleasant, fierce gaze. His unintentional angry and scary face makes the students scatter, and he owes that to his appearance. He is erroneously identified as unapproachable and desires to find friends. In contrast to his appearance, he has a very gentle and steady personality. While Kodaka does seem like a bit of a twat, by the end he can go to any limits to be there for his friends. Even he can be at his most disliked place if he is with a friend. Kodaka’s personality is something that always drags him into conflicts, and instead of making friends, he attracts enemies. So in order to find friends, Kodaka, with his friend Yozora Mikazuki starts the Neighbours Club.
Basically, the club focused on learning to make friends and how to act in social situations. The important members of the club were Rika and Yukimura. Later added to the list at the very least were Sena, Yozora, and Kate. The club makes Kodaka happier. To get along with everyone and to have fun is more important for him. He values the club above all and always ventures to maintain good relations between all the members. In the attempt, however, dismissing their romantic feelings for him. The exception is Rika, and he acknowledges her feelings towards him. Except for the fact that Rika later starts feeling differently for him and dumps him.
Who does Kodaka end up with?
For the people who have been guessing this, the next line will put an end to your guessing game. Kodaka ends up with Sena after Rika rejects him. Personally, I liked Sena a lot and wanted Sena to be the endgame. Initially, when Sena’s feelings are revealed, Kodaka rather tries to stay away from her. He thinks that Rika is the one he loves and her soulmate, consequently suppressing his feelings for her. After his fight with Rika, he finally realizes that how much he adores and loves her. Later it is known that Kodaka had been in love with Sena since their first meeting.
Kodaka however fears that being in a relationship with one of the Neighbors club members would affect the club the most. The purpose of the club was to find friends and not a romance in the first place. So he begged Sena to be patient, and basically, Kodaka can still end up with one of the girls once they graduate. Being so in love with him, Sena accepts. The way this goes might not be the way we wanted, but also sometimes there is no need to rush the romance and I think that is what our protagonist Koadaka wants. But yes in the end, it’s Sena who Koadaka ends up with.
