Besides, the other star of the night was van der Dussen. The 33-year-old put in a vital display for his team.

The win saw the pair register an unbroken partnership of 131-runs. It gave SA the highest successful run chase in their history. Furthermore, it also stands as the highest run chase by any team against India.

Miller came into the match on the back of his best-ever IPL season. His partnership with van der Dussen proved crucial. The latter was dropped on 29 by India’s Iyer. He then went on to score 75 runs to ensure SA beat India.

A death bowling blunder

It was a forgettable outing for Team India’s death bowlers. Harshal Patel gave away 22 runs in the 17th over of the match. Moreover, India conceded equal runs in the 18th over as well. It put the game beyond reach for the home side. Also, Pant made the headlines for his poor captaincy. However, the team will look to bounce back in the 2nd T20.
