Hyatt Reveals Expansion Strategy for Hyatt Centric Brand in Mexico

Hyatt Announces Plans for Expansion of Hyatt Centric Brand in Mexico

Hyatt Hotels Corporation (NYSE: H) has collaborated with Inmobiliaria Canels, SA de CV and GACO&BA to announce that their affiliates have entered into an agreement to introduce the full-service Hyatt Centric lifestyle brand to Querétaro, Mexico.

Querétaro, a historic colonial town in central Mexico renowned for its 17th and 18th-century Baroque architecture, will be the backdrop for the upcoming Hyatt Centric Querétaro.

The hotel’s strategic location in close proximity to the Historic Monument Zone of Querétaro, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, will provide travelers with convenient access to explore and immerse themselves in the rich culture and history of the area.

Scheduled to open its doors in 2025, the three-story Hyatt Centric Querétaro will feature 105 upscale modern guestrooms and suites, a lobby-level ballroom, versatile meeting and event spaces, various food and beverage offerings, a fitness center, and a rooftop pool.

The hotel’s design will draw inspiration from the city’s well-preserved colonial ambiance, blending modern and culturally authentic elements. The incorporation of local contemporary artists’ interpretations will pay homage to Querétaro’s history and cosmopolitan essence.

Among the distinctive features of Hyatt Centric Querétaro is the inclusion of the Pineda Covalin boutique, a renowned Mexican fashion brand, offering guests a unique shopping experience with handcrafted art, apparel, and keepsakes.

The hotel will house three restaurants and two bar concepts led by the acclaimed mixologist Javier de las Muelas Group. Guests can enjoy a variety of dining options, including authentic Mexican fare and local specialties at Carmencita Café and Carmencita Terrace, or experience an innovative dining atmosphere at The Speakeasy restaurant, offering shared plates and expertly crafted cocktails.

Alfredo Reynoso, regional vice president of real estate & development at Hyatt, expressed excitement about the collaboration, emphasizing the dedication to expanding the Hyatt Centric brand footprint in thriving destinations throughout Mexico.

Hyatt Centric Querétaro, the second property in Mexico under the Hyatt Centric brand, will join the global portfolio of over 50 Hyatt Centric hotels, providing a launchpad for adventurous explorers seeking to uncover Querétaro’s storied heritage, historic monuments, and unique design.

Hyatt Centric Querétaro’s prime location within walking distance to Centro Histórico, Querétaro’s historic downtown neighborhood, offers guests easy access to top dining experiences, celebrated museums, charming plazas, lively markets, and more than 1,000 historical monuments.

David Xiqui, managing director of GACO&BA, expressed confidence in delivering a premium hotel experience that will attract both locals and travelers, leveraging GACO&BA’s market expertise and Hyatt’s operational excellence.
