Legal analyst Caroline Polisi asserted on MSNBC Thursday morning that Fani Willis’ apparent falsehood under oath could spell “game over” for her in the election fraud trial involving former President Donald Trump.

Polisi, a federal and white-collar defense attorney and senior FBI official known for her appearances on MSNBC and CNN, did not mince words about the potential impact of Willis’ actions on the case.

“This is epic. This is monumental,” Polisi emphasized. “If things are going in the direction we think, Fani Willis lied to the court, it’s game over for her. She will be disqualified. If they had a relationship prior to when they represented truth to the court, it’s a huge deal. I can’t overstate.”

Further elaborating to Mediaite, Polisi stated, “Willis will be disqualified, which means her entire office is disqualified, which means the case will have to be re-assigned and languish with the PAC of Georgia, effectively killing the case. Her credibility is completely shot.”

While the exact impact on the election fraud case against Trump remains uncertain, it appears that Willis’ involvement in leading the case is effectively over following revelations of her alleged perjury regarding the timing of an affair with her deputy.

Although the case against Trump may not be definitively terminated, many legal analysts speculate that it could falter due to the lack of a willing replacement to lead it.
