Former President Trump reiterated his commitment to defending Christianity and religious liberty if he wins the White House in November during his address at the National Religious Broadcasters convention.

Speaking at the NRB’s 80th anniversary, Trump praised the organization for spreading the word of God and recognized evangelical figures like Pat Robertson and Billy Graham.

CBN White House Correspondent Abigail Robertson reported from the convention, noting that Trump’s speech marked the sixth time a former or sitting president has addressed the NRB. She also mentioned that President Biden and GOP primary candidate Nikki Haley were invited to speak but declined.

During his speech, Trump highlighted the accomplishments of his first administration, particularly his record on issues like abortion, Israel, the Supreme Court, judges, and religious liberty.

He pledged to continue fighting for Christians if elected for a second term, promising to take action on issues such as gender ideology and child sexual mutilation.

“I will also take historic action to defeat the toxic poison of gender ideology and restore the timeless truth that God created two genders, male and female,” Trump said. “I will keep men out of women’s sports and I will sign a law prohibiting child sexual mutilation in all 50 states.”

Trump also announced plans to create a new federal task force to fight anti-Christian bias, emphasizing that under his administration, “no one will be touching the cross of Christ.”

After the NRB convention, Trump is now focusing on the next Republican primary in South Carolina. Based on polling data and previous wins in Iowa, New Hampshire, and Nevada, he is expected to perform strongly there.
