Brinkley, who recently celebrated her 70th birthday, expressed her commitment to better sun protection practices moving forward. She acknowledged being a bit lax in the past and vowed to be more diligent in applying SPF 30, wearing long sleeves, and a wide-brim hat, especially given her affinity for gardening.
“I got serious a bit late so now for this ole mermaid/gardener, I’ll be slathering on my SPF 30, reapplying as needed, wearing long sleeves and a wide brim hat. And doing regular total body check-ups … that is a MUST!” she added.

The decision to address the carcinoma came about unexpectedly during an appointment with her daughter. Brinkley shared that while accompanying her daughter, she asked the doctor to examine a tiny dot on her face, which led to an immediate biopsy.
“He took a look and knew immediately it needed a biopsy! He did it then and there! So make your own good luck by making that checkup appointment today,” she advised her followers, expressing gratitude to the doctors at the Laser & Skin Surgery Center of New York.
Brinkley’s post received an outpouring of support from fans and followers, who wished her a speedy recovery. Her daughter, Alexa Ray Joel, also chimed in, offering her love and suggesting Arnica Cream & Supplements to aid in Brinkley’s skin healing process.
