China’s Top Political Advisor Pledges Increased Exchanges with UK Parties

Wang Huning, serving as the chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), held a meeting on Thursday with a delegation of members of the UK Parliament from both the Conservative Party and the Labour Party. This meeting took place within the context of the 12th China-UK Leadership Forum.

During the meeting, Wang emphasized China’s commitment to advancing modernization through high-quality development. As a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, Wang highlighted the importance of the China-UK relationship, stating that China places great importance on strengthening ties with the UK.

Wang extended a warm welcome to UK enterprises, encouraging them to continue investing in China and to actively participate in the country’s development opportunities.

He emphasized the CPC’s readiness to engage in various forms of exchanges with both the Conservative Party and the Labour Party.
