Fani Willis’ Office Text Shows Investigator Flirting with Witness

Text Message From Fani Willis’ Office Shows Investigator Hitting on Witness

The ongoing YSL (Young Slime Life) RICO trial involving rapper Young Thug, also known as Jeffrey Williams, and several co-defendants, revealed new information regarding the conduct of an investigator from Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis’ office.

During the trial on Monday, it emerged that the investigator, identified as Hamilton, had engaged in inappropriate behavior by hitting on a female witness, A. Bennett, while working on the case. Text messages presented in court showed Hamilton asking Bennett out on a date, indicating a departure from discussing case-related matters.

In one text message, Hamilton referred to Bennett as “mama” on multiple occasions, further suggesting a level of familiarity beyond professional boundaries. Another message from Hamilton revealed that he was keeping Bennett informed about trial proceedings, indicating a close relationship beyond what is typical between an investigator and a witness. Bennett, who is testifying about a 2013 robbery allegedly involving Williams and two others, highlighted the inappropriate conduct of Hamilton during her testimony.

The YSL trial, which commenced in November, has continued into 2024, with Monday marking the 54th day of proceedings. The recent revelation of text messages adds to the sexual harassment allegations raised by Williams’ defense team. Bennett had previously stated that Hamilton sexually harassed her, expressing discomfort with his advances. She recounted instances where Hamilton expressed interest in dating her and attempted to meet her alone, leading her to bring her 2-year-old son along for safety.

During Monday’s proceedings, Bennett affirmed that the unwanted advances from an employee of the district attorney’s office influenced her decision-making regarding testifying in the case. She also mentioned feeling uncomfortable due to the behavior of other members of Willis’ office, including Chief Deputy District Attorney Adriane Love. Despite Bennett’s complaints, Love’s involvement in the case remains unchanged after the judge’s decision last week not to disqualify her, despite efforts by Williams’ legal team.

The defense’s efforts to address the misconduct within the district attorney’s office have been ongoing, with attempts to disqualify Love from the case based on her involvement and alleged harassment. However, these attempts have been unsuccessful so far. The trial continues to unfold amidst these revelations, shedding light on issues of professionalism and ethics within the legal proceedings surrounding the YSL RICO trial.
