Representative Marc Molinaro (R-N.Y.) has openly criticized his colleague Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) for her disruptive political tactics in Congress, particularly her efforts to oust Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.).

In a recent interview on CNN’s “The Source,” Molinaro expressed his frustration with what he described as Greene’s “theater,” which he believes undermines the functioning of Congress.

He emphasized his refusal to participate in such actions, noting that many of his colleagues, both conservative and moderate, are equally fed up and ready to move on from this kind of disruption.

Greene’s recent actions include filing a motion to vacate Johnson from his leadership role, a move that has only garnered public support from Representative Thomas Massie (R-Ky.), who is known for his libertarian and independent perspectives.

Although this motion has not yet led to a vote on Johnson’s leadership, it has added tension to ongoing legislative discussions, particularly regarding aid to Ukraine.

Despite this internal party conflict, Speaker Johnson has been trying to pass through a politically charged atmosphere by proposing a series of bills aimed at providing aid to Ukraine, Israel, and other democratic allies.

This legislative package, which seeks to reject a Senate-passed foreign aid bill favored by Democrats, reflects Johnson’s attempt to appease more conservative elements within his party. However, this approach has exacerbated divisions within the party and highlighted Johnson’s precarious position as leader.

Additionally, Johnson is pushing a border security bill intended to garner conservative support, although it is expected to face serious hurdles in the Senate. Molinaro, a first-term lawmaker, advocates for a bipartisan approach to foreign policy and legislative action.

He stresses the importance of working together with both parties to support international allies and counter global threats such as those posed by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Molinaro’s call for bipartisanship underscores his desire to focus on effective governance and his willingness to collaborate across the aisle to address the challenges facing the United States and its allies.
