Melania Trump is scheduled to host a fundraiser with the Log Cabin Republicans, an organization advocating for LGBT conservatives and allies. Ric Grenell, the first openly gay person to serve in a Cabinet-level position, will also attend the event.
The Log Cabin Republicans have been active for over 40 years, promoting equality through various initiatives. Trump’s outreach to the LGBT community includes Grenell’s appointment, commitments to end the HIV epidemic, and efforts to address the criminalization of homosexuality globally.

Despite the perception that Trump is anti-gay, Charles Moran, president of the Log Cabin group, believes Trump’s record demonstrates support for LGBT inclusion. Trump’s past philanthropic, business, and social interactions, along with his stance on gay marriage, are cited as evidence.
A poll of 600 LGBT voters showed that a remarkable portion are considering voting for Trump, with 28% leaning towards supporting him.
