Senator Bernie Sanders has taken a firm stance against continued US aid to Israel, citing the devastating humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the American people’s desire for an immediate ceasefire.
In a recent interview on “Meet the Press,” Sanders emphasized that while many Republicans and some Democrats support unconditional aid to Israel, the majority of Americans want a more balanced approach that prioritizes humanitarian aid and an end to the violence.
He stressed that the US public does not want to be complicit in the starvation of hundreds of thousands of children in Gaza.

Sanders has consistently called for a halt to US aid to Israel, pointing to the disproportionate civilian death toll and depleting humanitarian resources in Gaza. While polls have shown varying levels of American support for Israel’s actions, Sanders argues that the US must prioritize international law and human rights.
He voted against a recent foreign aid package that included $26 billion for Israel and global humanitarian aid, citing the “unfettered military aid” that enables Israel’s “unprecedented assault” on the Palestinian people.
Sanders believes that Israel has broken international and American law and, therefore, should not receive further US military aid. He acknowledges that Hamas is a “terrible, disgusting terrorist organization,” but argues that Israel’s response has amounted to a war against the entire Palestinian people.
