Kodansha Ranobe Bunko (Kodansha)’s light novel is the original TV animation “Different World Demon King and Summoned Girl’s Slave Magic” 2nd term “Different World Demon King and Summoned Girl’s Slave Magic Ω” will be on TBS and BS-TBS from April It is being broadcast. The staff of the same work tells the secret story of the production, “The” backside “of the different world Demon King.” In the first session, we asked producer Masashi Ito of the Film and Animation Division of TBS’s Media Business Bureau to talk about the appeal of his work.
◇ The theme song rap is extremely hot
–What was your impression of reading the original?
I felt that not only the activity of Diavro, which is depicted as an adventure tan but also female characters such as Shera and Rem are written very attractively. Furthermore, in the novels 4 to 6 which is the story of the second period of the animation, a new heroine called Lumaquina appeared, and I had high expectations for visualization.
－－It’s a boom in another world, but what is the appeal of “Different World Demon King”?
It’s not just a heroic fantasy in a different world, but the human odor that is glimpsed as Takuma Sakamoto of Diavro deepens the relationship with the female characters spun in the adventure. I feel that it is a charm that is not found in the different world fantasy that has been visualized a lot these days.
－－It is very popular during and after the broadcast, such as entering a trend on SNS. How do you analyze its popularity?
I think it was a big point that it was a title that had already been evaluated in the first period as a different world adventure tan. On top of that, the catchy theme song sung by Yu Serizawa with a gorgeous lineup of DJ KOO and MOTSU may have strongly stabbed the viewers’ impressions. Personally, rap is extremely hot. When the music producer asked me about the theme song, I was struck by the fact that I didn’t think it was boring or didn’t have to say, “What’s closer to fantasy …”. In addition, the sex appeal scene is one of the charms of the work, and I think that one of the reasons why it became a hot topic was that some people included elements that made them want to see it in real-time.
◇ The success of new female characters is also unique to the second period
–What was the most important thing you tried to make into an animation?
I was always conscious that I could build an animation in all 10 episodes without spoiling the charm of the original including the sex appeal part. Kazuyuki Fudeyasu of the series composition and Shizue Kaneko of the character design continued to be in charge, and thanks to the efforts of the production company, it is a wonderful work that is comparable to the popular first period. Of particular note is the existence of Lumaquina. In the conflict between her pure justice and the reality surrounding the church, Diavro and his friends are adventuring to resolve the situation. In addition, the activities of newly appearing female characters such as Rose, Horn, and Ramnites are also attractive in the second period. －－What made you happy and difficult to make the work?

The nuances may be a little different if you say it’s difficult, but there is a scene in which Masaaki Mizunaka, who plays Diavro, and Aoi Koga, who plays Rose, performed enthusiastically in episode 8 that was broadcast the other day. It is a pity that I misunderstood the border on the examination because of the sweetness and caused the change of the dialogue and the re-recording at a later date for broadcasting. I’m still very sorry for Mr. Underwater and Mr. Koga. We hope to create an opportunity for everyone to see the original version in some way in the future.
