Lauren Conrad, an alum of The Hills, comes up about leaving the show after five seasons to “emotionally heal” from reality television. Conrad startled everyone during season 5 of ‘The Hills’ when she announced that she would be quitting the show to pursue other endeavors, but fans always thought that there was more to her decision than just a desire to further her career.

Lauren Conrad of The Hills went up about her departure from the reality program, stating that she needed time to “emotionally rehabilitate” from the show’s poisonous features. Lauren originally gained popularity on MTV’s Laguna Beach, where fans followed her through her high school years, guy issues and all.

She quickly became a fan favorite and got the starring role on the spin-off program The Hills, where she recounted her life after high school, working her way up in the fashion business while juggling Hollywood relationships and unending friend drama.

What made Lauren Conrad leave ‘The Hills’?

Conrad startled everyone during season 5 of ‘The Hills’ when she announced mid-season that she would be quitting the show to pursue other endeavors, but fans always believed that there was more to her decision than just a desire to further her career.

Their suspicions were confirmed when, shortly after she left, the reality star told Cosmopolitan that the producers pressured her to be kind to her co-star and her best friend Heidi Montag, and she didn’t want to do it anymore. However, things appeared to have improved between Conrad and her closest friend during Season 4.

The reality star called it “false” and stated that the producers compelled the pals to be polite to one other, despite the fact that there was still bad blood between them. Conrad chooses to leave the program and pursue other chances as a result of his feud with Montag. Although ‘The Hills’ rebooted with ‘The Hills: New Beginnings,’ Conrad refused to participate, implying that she would never return to the program.

This is not to say that Conrad has vanished from public view. The reality star-turned-fashion magnate was on the show for five seasons before quitting in 2009, but not before the public knew her whole life story. Or, more accurately, the MTV version of her personal story, which includes a turbulent friendship with fellow The Hills co-star Heidi Montag.

Though Lauren had employment problems and romance turmoil, such as her notorious pass on vacation to Paris to be with boyfriend-at-the-time Jason Wahler, nothing was more traumatic than her breakup with Heidi in season three.

The buddy split was spurred by allegations allegedly made by Heidi’s now-husband, Spencer Pratt, and grew into a conflict that lasted Lauren’s entire time on the program and beyond. The years of her personal life being played out on TV had their toll on the Little Market inventor, who is now reflecting on her time in the spotlight 15 years later.

The 34-year-old met with fellow The Hills co-star and former “work wife” Whitney Port on her podcast With Whit to explore why she finally said goodbye to reality TV after they had cleared the air about their extended absence from one other’s life.

Port then mentioned how Lauren’s departure from the show caused a schism in their connection due to Lauren’s desire to isolate herself from the ensemble. She went on to say that after living her life onscreen for a long time and at a young age, she realized she needed to get out of the harmful scenario.

Whitney and Lauren appear to be on excellent terms following Lauren’s departure from The Hills. Despite the fact that the adored starlet has moved on from her days clubbing around LA with Brody Jenner and the group, she hasn’t wasted any time and has now become a wife, mother, best-selling book, and massively successful fashion designer.

Conrad built her own fashion brand after leaving the famous reality program. She also manages a marketplace called ‘The Little Market’ and has her own podcast. She just added a new feather to her hat after dabbling in the cosmetics industry by starting her own makeup line.

Aside from her several business activities, Conrad is also a best-selling author of both fiction and non-fiction novels. She is presently married to William Tell, a lawyer. The couple is the parents of two children. She routinely shares Instagram tidbits of her life with her spouse and children. Conrad appears to be doing well after her dramatic departure from ‘The Hills,’ yet OG fans will always miss her on the show.

Lauren’s ex-coworkers detailed their disagreement on ‘Very Cavallari.’

Lauren has developed a successful namesake clothing brand at Kohl’s, and her co-stars have mainly continued to advance their reality careers after their time on The Hills, but that doesn’t mean the old scars have healed.

Audrina and Heidi travel to Nashville to see Kristin in the February 13 episode of Very Cavallari. During a dinner excursion, the three examine Kristin’s bond with Kelly Henderson and compare it to what transpired between Lauren and Heidi.
