Zinedine Zidane and PSG seem to be in a tug of war of authenticity right now. The French club is looking for a new boss for the first team. Zidane seems to fit their bill in that regard. Besides, the club has reportedly convinced Zidane to offer his services to them. Also, Zidane being a free agent makes them getting him easier. However, his agent states that there are no contacts with PSG yet. He further says he is the only one to speak for the man.
Notably, Zidane last worked as the boss of Real Madrid. He left the club in 2021 for the second time. Besides, his first spell was from 2016 to 2018. As their manager, he is the first coach to win three consecutive UCL titles. Also, he won them the LaLiga and Club World Cup titles. This success saw him named the best FIFA men’s coach in 2017. Besides, he served the club as a player from 2001 to 2006.
Notably, PSG previously got knocked out by Real Madrid in the UCL under Zidane. The French club wants to taste glory in the UCL. They’ve tried and failed again and again. However, they find Zidane as the ideal man for that job. However, reports suggest Zidane’s eyes are on the French national team job. PSG and Zidane will have to get a deal done if the club wants their man.
Will Zidane and PSG be an ideal match?
PSG is offering Zizou a deal of three years. It’ll be a good move considering that he has spent three years in each of two spells as Madrid boss. Besides, Madrid remains the only club that Zidane has managed in his career. So, giving him time looks to be vital in terms of results.
Furthermore, Zidane is known for his ability to manage big egos in a team. He will have plenty of big-name stars to deal with at PSG.
Messi, Neymar, and Mbappe will all look to be on the starting 11. Besides, Mbappe signing his new contract means he is more or less guaranteed a start every game. Also, Zizou will have a few familiar faces in Ramos and Navas. All in all, Zidane and PSG look to be an ideal move for both parties. Keep an eye on the Artistree for any future updates.
