Ed Orgeron, born on 27th July 1961, is a world-renowned American football coach and was the head coach at LSU (Louisiana State University). He has huge experience in college coaching because he has worked with the University of Mississippi, McNeese State University, and the University of Southern California. During his school and college times, he was also a football player.

He is the son of Cornelia and Edward Orgeron and a brother of Steve. The renowned quarterback has played for New Orleans, Atlanta Falcons, and Michigan Panthers. Ed Orgeron was part of his high school team who won the state championship in 1977. After joining the University, he then joined the LSU football team.

He was hired as a graduate assistant for the Northwestern State University team in the year 1984, following in 1985, he joined the McNeese State University in Lake Charles as a coach. He is one of the best coaches, as his record speaks for him.

In 1998, Paul Hackett was the new head coach of the University of Southern California, where Ed was offered a defensive coaching position. In 2000 Paul was fired from his position as a head coach. At that time, Ed was one of the few coaches who was retained by the new head coach Pete Carroll.
