The sequel anime ‘Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon’ takes place six months after ‘InuYasha: The Final Act.’ Towa and Setsuna (Rin’s twin daughters) and Sesshomaru live peacefully in Japan during the feudal times. A raging wildfire in the nearby forest separates the two twins. Sota Higurashi, Kagome Higurashi’s younger brother, adopts and looks after her. He takes care of the 4-year-old Towa after she is transferred to modern-day Japan via a portal.
The portal gateway reopens a decade later. Setsuna and Towa are reunited. Setsuna, on the other hand, has no recollection of her twin sister and also turns into a fiery demon slayer during their separation a decade earlier. Moroha, Inuyasha and Kagome’s only daughter, joins the two without the knowledge of who her parents were except for the fact that her mother was some high-level human priestess and her father is a half-dog demon. The three 14-year-olds go on an epic journey together to uncover their history and past life mysteries and complete a crucial task.
The later part of how these three come together and go against a common rival is worth a watch. However, the series ends with a heart-wrenching scene, Setsuna’s death. Setsuna was slain in a stunning turn of events during the battle with Kirinmaru leaving Towa in sorrow for a second time. It is then revealed that the combined strength of Towa and Setsuna was insufficient to defeat the Demon Beast King.
