The series returns with splendor and just like any other volume, delves into the life of Weiss. Her mind to be precise. Given how complicated the world and lore of RWBY are, it’s hard to start from one point. RWBY Ice Queendom Episode 1 will have some of the old stories as seen in the first volume. Do not be fooled by it being a retelling of the original. The show has made some nuanced changes to the show which made it feel fresh and welcoming. If anything, this will serve as a good entry point for people to start the show and get hooked on the series. There are some things the show has done well compared to the original, but fights of vol 1 remain superior overall. Despite that, the focus on characters and their growth is polished with hints of the story being something new.

The antagonist of the show is not the ones we see in vol.1 it is entirely possible that what we are witnessing is inside Weiss’s mind. The Grimm are similar to how Weiss’s powers work and she might be under psychological stress or hypnosis to be experiencing. But episode 1 of RWBY Ice Queendom doesn’t throw the complicated stuff right as you began watching. RWBY Ice Queendom is working as an entry point for many to get accustomed to the series. We weren’t interested in the show until recently, but after watching some of the older and the pilot for the new season we are hooked. What is RWBY Ice Queendom about?
The story takes place in a fictional world of Remnant where Technology and Fantasy co-exist. Every person has an aura in them, it is proof that they are alive except Grimm. Grimm feeds on the Aura of people to survive and traps them in an Everlong nightmare. Humanity relies on Hunters and huntresses as their last bastion of hope. The series follows a group of four girls attending the Beacon academy to become the huntress. The name RWBY is derived from the first letter of the four main characters’ names. Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna, and Yang Xiao Long.
The series was created by Monty Oum under Rooster Teeth. RWBY Ice Queendom will be the first in the series to be animated by a Japanese studio. Shaft did the animation for the latest season.
