Born in Maryland in the United States, Josh Charles is an amazing theatre actor and an American TV star who largely gained fame through his work and role in ‘Threesome,’ ‘Dead Poets Society’ and ‘The Good Wife.’ Having a good social media following and reach, he is often tracked by fans and people across the world.

People couldn’t get enough of Josh in ‘The Good Wife’ as Will Gardner. It is often said that his fans used to watch the show only because of him. Then what happened was that he suddenly left the show in the middle, without any prominent announcement of any kind. Many people were left wondering about the reason for his departure. Here is all you need to know about it.

Josh Charles on leaving ‘The Good Wife’

The Good Wife was a political drama that was doing extremely well and had seven seasons. Every season had a remarkable viewership, patting the back of the people behind the show. Other people who worked in the show besides Josh were Matt Czuchry, Julianna Margulies, Archie Panjabi, and many more. Their hard work could be seen on the screen as well as behind the screen.

But what happened that Josh suddenly vanished? Here is the answer. Josh Charles had a contract with the show for four seasons.

Yes, it’s right! It was the expiry of his contract after the fourth season, which he could have asked to get renewed had he been interested in being a part of the show anymore. But, Josh was seen saying that it was quite exhausting for him, and he needed a break to discover himself and his career a little more in his own way.

So, more than the expiration of his contract, it was his own unwillingness to continue as a part of the show that made him leave. Although the fans were not happy with his departure, they couldn’t help but accept his decision and move on.

What is Josh Charles doing at present?

Josh Charles has always been very focused on his career and has always left any place he thought he shouldn’t be anymore. The same happened when he left ‘The Good Wife’ in the fourth season.

After making his blockbuster appearance in ‘Amateur’ and ‘The Drowning,’ he is now working on two post-production projects. These two projects are ‘Mother’s Instinct’ and a Michel Franco project that doesn’t have a name as yet.

The star is sure to make them all a firing hit, as all of his fans expect. All the roles that he has played till now have been extremely successful, which are responsible for the high expectations of his followers.

Josh Charles blew life into his character of Will in ‘The Good Wife.’ At present, he is working on other projects and taking his time exploring his own skills and honing them. As much as we loved him as Will Gardner, we are waiting for more of his hit works.
