The Umbrella Academy is a superhero television series that aired on Netflix in 2019. This show is based on Gerard Way’s comic book series of the same name. It follows a dysfunctional superhero adopted family who reunites to solve the mystery surrounding their father’s death and trying to stop an impending apocalypse. The series ensemble cast includes Elliot Page, Tom Hopper, David Castaneda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher and Justin H. Min as the Hargreeves siblings.
Recap of the Season 2 finale
The episode first begins with a flashback to Ben’s funeral. Reginald gives a eulogy at his funeral and uses this to discipline the siblings, which causes them to fight, leaving only Klaus behind. Klaus brings back Ben, and they both promise to keep it a secret. In 1963, the siblings were wanted by the FBI for allegedly helping with Kennedy’s assassination. The siblings argue about what they will do now while Vanya tries to contact with Vanya tells the Academy that she is leaving and that she is the only one who can protect Harlan. Klaus decides to go with her and not wanting her to be alone, the rest of the academy joins her.
Later when they arrive at the barn, the Handler and Lila track them down. They say that they want to not only execute Five for killing the Board of Directors but also want to kill the rest of the Academy. Vanya takes down the attackers using her powers, but it spares only Lila and the Handler as they used force fields around them. Lila then uses the same powers as Vanya and blows them out.

The sibling tries everything to fight off Lila but she succeeds at every turn using their powers. Later, The Handler finally finds Harlan and tries to manipulate him into thinking that she is the only one who could help him find his true potential. Five continues to fight with Lila and asks her why she has their powers, and she explains that she has the ability to copy anyone’s powers that she finds and reveals that she is their sister as she was born at the same time as the siblings.
The Academy tries to calm her down and explain to them that since she has the powers like them, she can be a part of the new family and tells them that the Handler had killed Lila’s parents and wanted to use her for her powers only. Before Lila decides to join them, the Academy is shot to death by the Handler and she later shoots Lila dead as well only to be killed by Axel. Five goes back in time before this all happens, and the Handler is finally killed by Axel, but Lila ends up disappearing for good. Later, Herb and Dot appear and give a position to Five, but he refuses as he has to go back in time where he belongs with his family. Vanya asks Sissy to come with her, but she decides to stay with Harlan as travelling in time with Vanya would be too risky.
The Umbrella Academy Season 3 Release Date?
The siblings go back in time to 2019, where they discover that Reginald is still alive, The umbrella academy is now The Sparrow academy, and Ben is now alive. Season 3 will release sometime in 2021 and will feature a new cast of characters who will be known as the Sparrow academy. All the episodes are available to stream on Netflix.
