Korean Mystery Show “Busted!” Returns with Season 3

Busted!

With a series of announcements doing the rounds in the entertainment industry and a bulk of releases being lined up, there some good news for the Korean entertainment fans. Season 3 of the mystery show ‘Busted!’ is all set to premiere on the online streaming platform Netflix. The show is quite unknown to most American as well as Asian viewers as the show strictly features a panel of popular K-pop and K-drama stars that somewhat remain unfamiliar to most of the viewers. Unless you aren’t a big fan of the Korean industry and well versed with the stars, the show might be difficult for you to follow.

But for the fans who follow this show diligently, they’re aware of the unusual genre it is weaved around. The show pretends to be a reality show that features a group of 7 Korean celebrities with different backgrounds. They come together on this platform to portray the characters of various detectives and try to solve real-life mysteries as a team.

The show seems to be an amalgamation of an escape room event you’re sharing with your friends until a psychological thriller film hits you, and then you find yourself in a deadly survival game. Well, that’s ‘Busted!’ for you. The show made its debut on the streaming platform on 4 May 2018 and the initial season consisted of 10 episodes in total. On the show, the celebrity sleuths come to know that they’re part of an investigation operation called Project D where each of them has been implanted with the qualities of one specific renowned detective.

The panel of 7 stars is now supposed to cater to their responsibilities of a private detective and solve the cases. They’re assigned with a new mystery, a new task in every episode as the show proceeds, and eventually, they’re off on a mission to find the root cause of Project D and the man behind it who is simply called K.

The cast promoting the debut season

The show aired the last of the debut season in June 2018 and was renewed for a second season. The second season of the show premiered in November 2019, and just like the initial season, it too had a set of 10 episodes in total. The second season begins just after the events of season 1 and brings together all the celebrity sleuths yet again. But this time, they’re supposed to investigate something bigger. The sleuths receive a message that K has been kidnapped, and they begin their hunt to find him. But it struck them when they find about the death of K. The panel now investigates to find the truth that lies behind K’s death. They unveil the actual cause behind different murders that are all interconnected and eventually end up finding the killer, who is referred to as Flower Killer.

After the second season went off the air, the show was renewed for a third and final season in February 2020, and it came as a shock for the fans. They don’t want the show to put an end to the onscreen celebrity adventure, but we still have an entire season to enjoy. So the sleuths are finally coming back yet again with a new set of mysteries.
