Legacies Season 3 Episodes 2: Preview and Recap

Legacies is an American fantasy drama television series that made its debut in October 2018. Created by Julie Plec, the show is a spin-off of ‘The Originals’ and a prequel to one of the most popular shows, ‘The Vampire Diaries.’ It stars Danielle Rose Russell, Aria Shahghasemi, Kaylee Bryant, Jenny Boyd, Quincy Fouse, and various others in prominent roles.

Recap of Season 2

Season 2 of the series revolved around the boarding school for people with supernatural powers. But it ended early than expected due to the global health pandemic, and the scheduled episodes of the season were shifted into the third season. The ending left the audiences with some unusual cliffhangers, and the premiere episode of the brand new season aims at answering a few.

Danielle Rose Russell as Hope Mikaelson

When season 3 kicks off, we find Alaric is struggling and finding it almost impossible to wake up Hope and Landon while hiding it from the student body council to avoid creating any chaos or fear in their minds. In order to keep them in high spirits and distract them, MG takes all the students on a field day. Meanwhile, Aaric tries to get answers from Necromancer as to why Landon remains dead. The reason for the same remains the Classic Legacies twist, and that being: Landon had decided to sacrifice himself for good. So whenever the Necromancer tries to put Landon’s soul back into his body, he refuses because he feels that if he remains dead, Malivore would be left with no one to possess, and therefore the school will be safe. Hope is still willing to remain in her magical coma because she doesn’t want to get back into a world that exists without Landon.

Meanwhile, things don’t go as expected on the field day. First, Josie has to deal with all the bitterness the student hold against her for being under the dark spell and killing Alyssa Chang. She is back from the dead but is still pissed off at Josie for killing her. Josie is, however, back to her normal conduct of being her sweet and humble self, and we hope she’s confident enough about herself and refrains from using black magic. It’s good to see that Alyssa has because of a quirky and entertaining antagonist after being back from her death. Meanwhile, Lizzie becomes completely mean, while defending Josie, but she only keeps making things worse. The real conflict becomes evident when a new monster rise from the Malivore pit begins chasing the students. The Super Squad realizes that it will take a true hero in order to defeat the monster, but since Hope is out of commission, they’re clearly at a loss.

Season 3 Episode 1: Recap

Season 3 kicks off and picks up the same plot where Season 2 had ended. The Necromancer has killed Chad in the debut episode of the new season. Necromancer had initially befriended him to help him in a quest to regain his powers again. But by the time Chad became aware of his devilish intentions that involved the killing of kids, it was too late to step back. He was now cursed to spend his life, serving the Necromancer like a doltish Renfield. But the question that arises is: Is he really dead? Well, we’ll have to wait for the new episode to get dropped so that we could get a slight clue about what more the plot has to offer.

Legacies Season 2 Episode 3, called “Goodbyes Sure Do Suck,” will release on Thursday, 28 January 2021. The new episodes of the show can be watched on streaming services like Netflix and The CW.
